Well men, today was a joyous day in my 'menaissance'.

I went out into the local thrift/charity stores in the village and bought myself an arsenal of smart clothes.
This included a brand new navy blue blazer, a brand new (with tags) sports jacket, a very smart Italian suit jacket, a pair of brand new trousers and a fantastic shirt (with tags).

Coupled with my new DE razor and blades, a splash of 'Old Spice' (which my wife loves) it has been a splendid morning.

However, perhaps the greatest result was not a purchase but the discussion I had with my wife about what 'manliness' means, about dress code and manners and she is 'cock a hoop' about the whole idea. Indeed she has re-examined what it means to be feminine. She confided in me that she finds that women's fashions have an androgynous leaning to them and that she would prefer the style of the 40's or even 20's. I was heartily delighted to hear this and she has set about rebuilding her own wardrobe.

This site is a truly wonderful thing and I hope that the message is spread across the globe!

Getting rid of a houseguest

Evening! So I got a little dilemma. About a month ago, a friend of mine from my hometown came up to Chicago to move. Like I did a couple of years ago, he came up here to find more opportunity, and so I let him stay on my couch. Now, I kind of want my entire apartment back, but I can't exactly kick him out as of now, he doesn't have a job and won't have anywhere to go (going back to his parent's house isn't an option for him). For the most part, he's been a good houseguest.  He offered to pay…See More
