AoM once featured a post about the manliness of love letters. Recently, there was also a post on poetry (discussing, among other things, its applicability to wooing a lady).
I'm the first to admit that this is not a particularly "manly" poem, but nonetheless, since a man needs to be capable of expressing his feelings, I have decided to share it. I wrote it late one night, while listening to Louis Armstrong singing "What a Wonderful World".
"Somewhere, Someday" speaks to the incredible woman that I am yet to meet.
~
Somewhere, someday, I'll meet you.
Somewhere, someday, your smile will catch my eye.
Somewhere, someday, your hands will fall into mine.
Somewhere, someday, I'll write you poetry in the middle of the night.
Somewhere, someday, you'll be the one that really matters.
Somewhere, someday, you'll be the one to love me.
Somewhere, someday, I'll be the one to love you.
Somewhere, someday, you'll be the flower that doesn't wither.
Somewhere, someday, you'll be the white dove that doesn't fly away.
Somewhere, someday, you'll be the love song that keeps on playing.
Somewhere, someday, you'll be the star that sparkles forever.
Somewhere, someday, I'll find you.
Till then, I promise that I'll try; but still, baby, I wonder where
and I wonder why, I'll be blessed with a love that doesn't die.
