I cant help but wonder what happened to the days when it was honorable to have honor.Men acted like gentlemen and women acted like ladies. They raised their children to have a level of respect and taught them to act like ladies and gentlemen.when it was honorable to pray in public, discipline your children or to hold the door for a lady.when people would speak to each other without using vile, disgusting language,or hatred in their hearts. When a man was measured by his deeds and his works, and not given an award, along with everyone else,so he would'nt feel left out. When a lady was measured by how she cared for her family and her home. When kids were given grades they EARNED and not grades on a curve or participation grades. And most importantly, when a family attended church every Sunday, worshipped God in reverance and in awe,and had fellowship with his people.I know it goes back further than the sixties, but it seems like thats where it took a real turn.I'm not blaming one group of people, they're all to blame.parents and children.Just like we're to blame for not correcting the problem and changing course.I would listen so attentively when my grandparents would tell me stories about how they were rasied. How they got spanked if they did wrong. These days, our children are'nt given that respect and courtesy.Spanking is never fun,for anyone. But,sometimes it is necessary. My dad always said,"as hard headed as a mule is,he can be corrected with discipline."My dad,who is an honorable man,did a fine job raising us four kids.and so did my mom. We're all adults now and make our own decisions and have to live with the consequenses of them.My wife and I try to raise our son the same way.He is a very respectable young man.We all need to come together as a nation. No black, white, brown, red or yellow or rich or poor. We're all Americans.Lets take the advice of our older generation. That of love, honor, respect, and happiness. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a gentlemen and showing decency.Tell the kids to turn off the video games, facebook, ipads,or whatever new device is on the market. They should'nt be used as a babysitter.Instead, have them do homework and study. They are our future and need to be smarter than we are.On the weekend, take them to the park,go fishing, hunting, camping,or play some catch with them.take your family on a picnic. There HAS to be a bond between parents and children.Ladies, teach your daughters to be ladies. And men, teach your sons to be gentlemen. That bond will deepen the love and respect you have for each other. We need to put family first once again.not games or tv.We need to teach our children the value of a job well done.the value of work and the value of a dollar. We GIVE our kids too much and they EARN very little. They need to have that feeling of satisfaction when they EARN something. If we dont teach them that then we have stolen a work ethic from them.Lets all teach our children not to use foul language,by not using it ourselves.Let's teach them to treat a lady with admiration and respect by treating their mothers and grandmothers that way.Lets teach them proper english by not calling each other dude or dog.I am not a dog and will not respond kindly to being called one.And lets teach them good manners by using them ourselves.I hate being in a restaurant and seeing people chew with their mouths open,or talk while chewing.Children, listen to and obey your parents. In the ten commandments it says "Honor thy father and thy mother that thy days might be long."Dont talk back,do your homework, clean your room, brush your teeth, and whatever else you are told to do.

In closing,I'll say this.Family is more valuable than gold and more precious than jewels. But as you keep the tarnish off of silver by polish,so must you keep the tarnish off of your family name by the polish of good morals and virtue.that polish of honesty, integrity, and clean living that will never allow your family name not to shine.Let us get back to God.The order of life is God,your country, your family, your neighbor and yourself.Let us restore honor and dignity to our country.Let us not allow a few to ruin what many have died to protect.God bless you all and God bless America

I object!

I am not American!

But a lot of what you said makes sense wherever you are.

that is true, but it is up to us to re establish  that way of life...it all starts at home

The reward system has been up rooted and turned backward. Untill the reward systems like you have mentioned are re-established from the onset... like grades you've earned and there are no such things like bailouts; such simplistic rules of life seem sadly to be on suspension till further notice.

Finding your Purpose/Passion

Evening Gentlemen,Recently, life has thrown some colossal curve balls my way. Things I never expected to happen, well... happened. To be completely honest I've found myself all the way at the beginning of the metaphorical "level" with a clean slate.  This has been incredibly freeing and allowed me to spend some time exploring things I previously would never have done. After going through a really hard breakup of a long term relationship, and dealing with my parents going through some very hard…See More
