Finding a Mentor
This is a rather more solemn task to undertake for one such as I.
There are precisely three men I can think of to mentor me. They have been a dear comfort to me of late, and I remember them often, and fondly. They drew me out of myself, challenged me, and listened to me. Their words and presence were always a comfort and an inspiration. I can think of none better.
Their names shall remain known only to me, but while I know this is the day's task, I will be writing letters to them in the week. My progress and victory is declared in their naming and my intent.
They will help me by their very presence. They are older than I, and their wisdom and experience is what I have most benefited from. I have in the past also benefited from their respective personalities, for while each of them operate from their respective instincts, what those instincts appear as has always been a fascination, inspiration, and call-to-maturity for me.
Anything we say to one another has been held as sacred and respected. They have helped me not only in their words, but in their ears, and I wish to continue that even as they make difficult transitions with their lives.
I'd imagine the contact will be via letter, and as often as replies can be sent.
So, let's see what this is all about!
