So, yesterday I made the decision to scale back. I'm the youth director at my church, & participation is worse than normal. Just like every other year, we started off really good, small, but really good. We went through a pastoral change this summer, and I have told the kids that I'm due to move next summer. I try to be up front with them, heck I've told them all along that this is their youth group, I'm just there for the conversations, and to help them.

Hi Trey, I find it interesting that your dad was in the Air Force and you enlisted in the Coast Guard. My dad was in the Coast Guard, and I enlisted in the Air Force. My dad did not retire from the Coast Guard and he would always tell me that he wished that he stayed in and retired. But then, I spent 6 years in the Air Force and I too, wished I stayed in. It was the best time in my life. I originally wanted to go into the Coast Guard, I was in high school during the Vietnam War. The Coast Guard had a waiting list during that time. I am currently a member of the Civil Air Patrol and the Washington State Guard. Thank you for your service.
