I was reflecting today about city life. I know a lot of the AoM guys have a more rural lifestyle. It breeds a level of self-sufficiency that you don't necessarily see in the city. Life happens at a different pace, I think; with different thoughts and experiences. I work in a downtown core of a major city, and I think it's fascinating. Take restaurants, for instance.

I've blogged before about what I think about where we are going as a society. Personally, by and large, all things considered, I'm a big fan. I like what we've achieved. I think the past is in the past for largely good reasons.

I'm also one to admit that maybe we've thrown a few babies out with the bathwater, and maybe we need to bring them back.

Many of those statements I thought were overbroad characterizations, based on my both my own experience and an admitted media bias. (By way of full disclosure, I work in the media industry.)
