I am just beginning to learn... as the "Plainsboy" is a mere 2 months old... HOWEVER, he is young, I am still learning much. I learned that eventhough I fear hospitals, my son granted me focus and drive and helped overcome that fear. He was 7 wee...

A 2 month old, hungry little boy. or a tandem team consisting of a yellow and chololate lab jumping on the bed.

I have a 2 month old son who has born 7 weeks premature at home. Normally, I don't get vaccines but this year I will get both for the little guy.

My recommendation has to go for a newer Nissan Xterra. My wife and I have the first model year that came out and absolutely love it, and they have only gotten better. You've got all of the essentials. Strong V6 (sorry no V8, but you get decent mil...

While I like Land / Range Rover, I personally will buy a Toyota Land Cruiser. This article, Road trip: Once around the World (in a Land Cruiser), sealed the deal for me: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/travel/2010171489_trdriveworld01.html

My choice also.

probably the best out-of-box SUV is the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Get a 4-door and you''ve got a great family vehicle. Spend a little bit of money on getting some upgraded skid plates and it will go nearly everywhere you want to go.

By far my favorite of the Broncos jerseys and worn by my favorite player!

I like the uniforms for the Broncos, but seem to have ignored the socks. Of course, being from Colorado and a life long fan of the team, we have always heard about the socks... To me, they can wear anything.... as long as they keep WINNING!

People make up "zero tolerance policies" and other rules so as to obsolve the powers that be from thinking. Sure, a case-by-case review of each incident would be time-consuming, but punishing a kid who had intent on harm would do far less than lev...

I thought I would respond, although it has been over 10 years since I have been in Vail for an extended period of time. I seem to remember Pazzo's Pizza (in the Village) as being a great place for a slice of pie and a beer. As for others, I canno...

Thanks for the update. We're glad that you have some good news. Here's hoping that the rest of it can be resolved.

Sorry, I have not checked in for a while. The baby is good, in fact was released last Saturday and is now home with us. I have not had a chance to sit down with my folks as my nights and weekends were previously spent at the hospital visiting the...

To a degree, yes. I agree that he shouldn't take responsibility for his dad's behavior. However, I know that I personally have experienced GREAT results from talking to my parents about their behavior around my wife. There were things that simply...

Profile Information

Interests
Family (including my very own growing family), spending time with friends, Dog training, sampling good local craft beer, gardening, woodworking, bird watching, pursuing quiet leisure. I have grown interested in Manliness (obviously) as well as politics and civic involvement. Beginning in November, I will be a father as well.
Books
I am quite fond of Edward Abbey's writings as well as Ayn Rand. I typically read non-fiction or fiction novels with a deeper meaning. Of course, when I grow weary of such deep literature, I turn to standard written by Carl Hiassen among others.
Movies
Slap Shot, Black Sheep, Dr. Zhivago, Shawshank Redemption, sports movies, thinkers, etc.
Music
A diverse musical landscape including Rush, Widespread Panic, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Neil Young, The Tragically Hip, Dream Theater, bluegrass of any type, classic blues, Russian and Hungarian composers, meditative indian flute, classic jazz, big band.
Quote
In the modern techno-industrial culture, it is possible to proceed from infancy into senility without ever knowing manhood. ~ Edward Abbey

Because he was early, he was placed int he NICU for observation. It was a scary time for my wife, myself and our family, but she and baby are both healthy. Keeping this short and quick, little Nick never needed help bre… Continue

I've got to ask, with the orange and blue tie in your profile pic and the name Plainsman, did you attend Auburn University?
