If you could fight anyone (living or dead), who would you fight and why?

+1 on Teddy Roosevelt. Undoubtedly I would lose but there is no shame in saying that you got your ass kicked by T.R.

I am a Christian and have participated in one or two of the religious discussions. But in all honesty I come to this site to read/discuss what kind of flashlight is best, or what to keep in your ca...

Things You'd Never Thought You'd Hear Yourself Say ... Until You Had a Child

Actually the Veggie Tales writers are pretty clever and I'll take them over "Barney" any day. The problem was that he had them turned up too loud while his baby sister was sleeping. I had no soone...

Things You'd Never Thought You'd Hear Yourself Say ... Until You Had a Child

"TURN DOWN THAT MUSIC!" - Note: I said that to my six-year old who was playing a veggie tales CD at high volume after his baby sister was put down for the night.

I don't believe in having just one flashlight. I keep a big multiple "D" Maglight by the nightstand. I also have a couple of "AA" Maglights - One in an easy to reach spot on the way to the breaker box and the other in a 'Pock-its' brand holster th...

It can be pricey to replace the batteries but a great flashlight nonetheless. I am considering the LED bulb upgrade for improved performance and to extend the battery life.

I agree on this one. Even a simple task like brushing one's teeth can turn into a half hour affair when it's a six-year old boy in no particular hurry to go to bed. Engaging in effective management w/o ruling with an iron fist (Or worse being a na...

I too live in the frozen Tundra (MN). I work behind a desk, so often times my clothing and shoes would be ill-suited should happenstance leaves me on the side of a dark road in subzero weather. Any vehicle that I drive in, be it my truck or my cor...

Now if this post was about what is the best firearm to purchase on the cheap I would agree with you. I own a Mosen-Nagant .762R and it is indeed a very efficient killing weapon with almost no upfront investment. BUT it's nothing I would consider s...

Assuming you are referring to the passage I quoted, you are correct in saying that it wasn't a prophesy; It was a caveat to his followers to not expect discipleship in Christ to solve all of their problems in this life but rather to increase them....

I agree, there's no "kind" way to do this. I was kind of hoping after the "anonymous note made from clipped out letters from a magazine" suggestion it would be more obvious that the confrontation suggestions were tongue in cheek.

You said: "...or spending too much time in it and forgetting about the others who need me to be there for them..." I was struck by that sentence. My daughter is getting married, and this weekend is a party for her. I need to be there for her... and I WILL! Thanks, Terry. That was just what I needed. Take care, and I will ttyl... Bruce

Terry, your profile pic is awesome! It really captures a tender moment. Thanks for using it. Also, thanks for your kind words earlier this week. I hope you have been able to start getting your life back on track. I'm having an unusually hard time with mine right now. I can't seem to get a handle on it. The guys here at AoM have been so supportive, and my friends and family have been as well. I guess it just takes time...
