Chris replied to Terry's discussion Anybody else lost their father yet?
"I've been reflecting a lot on the loss of my Dad lately, perhaps because with the falling leaves each year, the change of warmth to cold, it was an October day that he left us. Or perhaps it's the fact that I too am a Father now, watching…"

"+1 on B&BW "C.O. Bigelow" - Just an almond sized squeeze into a pre-warmed bowl or mug lathers up nicely (Start a little dry and add water to adjust). It smells great and I love the cool menthol feel to it."

Terry replied to Eric R's discussion Why do you like real shaving better? in the group Real Shaving
"To reinforce some common themes, I was sick of the cost of cartridges & shave gel. Furthermore I was intrigued with the idea of turning my morning shave into an enjoyable ritual rather than another task that I ape through halfheartedly as I…"

Terry replied to David W.'s discussion Wet Shaving with a DE Safety Razor
"I'm another user of the Van Der Hagen kit - It's a great startup kit that lets you decide if soap & brush is for you without breaking your bank. As I have improved in my lather making I've reached the point that I am not sure how…"

Terry replied to David W.'s discussion Wet Shaving with a DE Safety Razor
"I switched to DE shaving this summer and relish making my own lather. I enjoy the the morning ritual now more than I ever did before. BUT - I like you also find that some guys are a little "too" into it. 28 pages, sheesh."

Terry replied to Library_Goon's discussion If you could fight anyone (living or dead), who would you fight and why?
"+1 on Teddy Roosevelt. Undoubtedly I would lose but there is no shame in saying that you got your ass kicked by T.R."

Terry replied to Bryan's discussion Am I the only one...
"I am a Christian and have participated in one or two of the religious discussions. But in all honesty I come to this site to read/discuss what kind of flashlight is best, or what to keep in your car trunk, etc. From what I've seen here and…"

Terry replied to Brett McKay's discussion Flashlight Reccomendations?
"I don't believe in having just one flashlight. I keep a big multiple "D" Maglight by the nightstand. I also have a couple of "AA" Maglights - One in an easy to reach spot on the way to the breaker box and the other in a…"

Terry replied to Brett McKay's discussion Flashlight Reccomendations?
"It can be pricey to replace the batteries but a great flashlight nonetheless. I am considering the LED bulb upgrade for improved performance and to extend the battery life."

Terry replied to Mark Parbus's discussion Lessons From Raising a Son
"I agree on this one. Even a simple task like brushing one's teeth can turn into a half hour affair when it's a six-year old boy in no particular hurry to go to bed. Engaging in effective management w/o ruling with an iron fist (Or worse…"

Terry replied to John Sherrill's discussion Things Every Man Should Keep in His Car/Truck

You said: "...or spending too much time in it and forgetting about the others who need me to be there for them..." I was struck by that sentence. My daughter is getting married, and this weekend is a party for her. I need to be there for her... and I WILL! Thanks, Terry. That was just what I needed. Take care, and I will ttyl... Bruce

Terry, your profile pic is awesome! It really captures a tender moment. Thanks for using it. Also, thanks for your kind words earlier this week. I hope you have been able to start getting your life back on track. I'm having an unusually hard time with mine right now. I can't seem to get a handle on it. The guys here at AoM have been so supportive, and my friends and family have been as well. I guess it just takes time...
