My Right Foot - living with a disability

I don't have a war story or a story of being a hero. My story has another unique angle. In the end it left me with a broken ankle that now leads me to correctly be labeled lame. I still get around…Continue

How do we greet one another

I was on my bike and he was walking.  His shirt was off and you could tell he was happy to be out enjoying the day with his body exposed to the sun and wind.  His physique was not impressive and it caused him no amount of inhibition, he was doing his thing and loving it.I wanted to call out as I rode past, to say something, even to stop and tell him "Me Too".But I didn't. and as I rode on I wondered - How do we greet one another? How do we show support and encouragement?  How do we express an…See More

I still get around and function pretty well, although there are a variety of things I don't do or do very well anymore and frankly it sucks. My injury occurred in 1974. the last 15 years has seen a painful increase in pain and a decrease of certain activities.  A steroid shot got me through a serious 5 day backpacking…See More

Todd McFarland replied to George Corbul's discussion How does one become a 'real' man exactly?
"Agreed that women's ideas vary widely, which means there are women for who like whatever type of man you want to be.   Don't let any woman define what a real man is for you.  That's ass-backwards."
