Tie knots according to body type

Started this discussion. Last reply by Mike S. Dec 24, 2012. 3 Replies

It's been a long argument I've been having with a guy I work with. I have a smaller frame, about 5'6, 140 lbs. I always wear wide spread collars and tie my ties in full windsors. He claims I should…Continue

Couple of shirt questions

Started this discussion. Last reply by Penelope Apr 3, 2012. 8 Replies

First thing, is something that has happened to me for a long time. When I wear a dress shirt, or any collared shirt. The inside of the collar has this thin ring of dirt. It's not a hygiene issue. But…Continue

Matching shirts, suits and ties!

Started this discussion. Last reply by Alfton Mar 14, 2013. 8 Replies

So I've been very recently trying to dress in suits a lot more. In fact, any occasion where there isn't a dress code or I wouldn't look absurd, I'm wearing a suit now. Partially for business,…Continue

"Matching suit, shirt, tie does matter to a business oriented man. A process most men would rather avoid, but the art can be mastered with good practice, Sunnyscustomtailor  are there to give a perfect attire to a business man."

"First problem: you are wearing a wide spread collar. Why? There are really only two collars I think are worth wearing: the semi-spread and button down. Second problem: he is pretty much right, but I'd go one step further and argue that every…"

"More so than the collar or your frame, your tie knot should work to reinforce what you'd like to emphasize about your figure. Apart from your height and the fact that you have a "smaller frame," we don't know much about your body…"

David F. replied to Shawn Barter's discussion Tie knots according to body type
"I think it depends on the collar size and spread.  The over all goal is to best frame your face.  You may want to try different styles of tie knots until you find one that does look good.   The other thing is that if you…"

Tie knots according to body type

It's been a long argument I've been having with a guy I work with. I have a smaller frame, about 5'6, 140 lbs. I always wear wide spread collars and tie my ties in full windsors. He claims I should be using a half windsor because of my smaller frame, regardless of the collar. Also that he's been told this by several tailors in clothing stores. Who do you think is in the wrong here? I'm personally comfortable with the full windsor and think I look good with it. but I thought I'd ask since I'm…See More

Tie Shops

I'm looking for a place to buy some new ties. I've discovered I have a mildly specific taste, but its still pretty open.Only places I've actually shopped for businesswear are Le Chateau, and the online store Tailor4Less. The bought a suit from each, and determined that I'm never buying off the rack again. However, ties are more of a mystery here. I ended up buying 6 altogether. And I love the glossy look on some of them. Others are matte and I find I never wear them for that reason. So I'm…See More
