Nice to meet all of you. I am a native Southerner (although if you ask my family we'll say we're German) moving to Colorado to begin my Master's degree. My educational background is in psychology, and I may or may not decide to pursue a career in counseling or education. I am an avid fan of video games, horror movies, and anything to do with fictional end-of-the-world scenarios. My big projects right now are learning to play the guitar, teaching myself German and Japanese, and writing a novella. I would like to start getting into better shape and learning some survival skills.
The Dark Tower series by Stephen King, Geek Love by Katherine Dunn, and Watership Down by Richard Adams are my all time favorites. There are far too many others that I enjoy to list.
I enjoy horror movies quite a bit. It's crass, but my favorites are probably The Devil's Rejects and House of 1,000 Corpses. The Poughkeepsie Tapes is also excellent.
Right now I'm listening to a lot of My Chemical Romance. My younger sister is a big fan of theirs and I've begun to develop a taste for them. I also enjoy The Moody Blues, Gin Blossoms, and Jimmy Buffet.
Go forth and set the world on fire.
