I guess he has only written one book called "Patriots," I asked because ID is mentioned in the book as a good SHTF place to be.  The story is somewhat stifled but it has some interesting survival content.

On Rawles he has a blog called SurvivalBlog.com.  Some interesting information, nothing to out of the ordinary but I read as much as I can, there might be something I have not thought of yet and can make all the difference in the world.  the more you know...

So true, A number of years ago in Bonner County the building department was becoming to draconian in the zoning laws and codes being passed.  To make a long story short the whole department was fired and their computers were auctioned off, and you know what the buildings are not falling over.

That is a beautiful time of year up there, with really long days.  The water in the lakes are at the perfect temperature for swimming and boating.  we made it almost up to Canadian border on a trip last summer, I want to make it up there for a couple of weeks in the winter some time.  I hear the snow is pretty sweet, and I have spent most of my life in Colorado.

Have you read anything by James Rawles?

The Northwest is really nice, we have some family up in Boise and we really enjoy visiting northern ID.  We are hoping to get some land and build a log home up in that area.

You can never know to much, and there really are not very many gunsmiths out there.  Nice little niche market.

Hi there Rockozt. Welcome to AoM. Also, I'd like to give you a friendly invite to check out my group, The Great Debate. Just click on "Groups." It's the one with the colorful galaxy picture. It's also one of the most active groups on AoM. In any case, great to have you with us.

"Having a hair nazi parent is not one of those things you look back on as an adult and appreciate, because it's less about the job of raising a good human, and more about Mom's image. The kid knows that, and will remember that."
