First straight razor (cut throat) - is getting old one good idea?

Welcome Gentlemen,Recently I have been thinking about getting myself a cut throat. I've been shaving with a safety razor for a year or so, and I think I'm ready to take another step. Although before I'll buy one, I'm looking for many different razors, so I'll choose a good one, even on an ebay-like site (mainly because of economical reasons). I have noticed that I can buy a quite nice straight razors. Especially few caught my attention - those are old cut throats, all dating back to World War…See More

Any good alternative for Gold Bond powder?

Hello Gentlemen.I read a lot about how good Gold Bond is, both on AoM and other websites. But after doing lots of search around, I couldn't find any place to buy it here, in Ireland. I know I could use Amazon to buy it, but I would prefer to first try it, and the postage to Ireland costs twice as much as the Gold Bond itself.
