Greetings and Salutations

Just wanted to introduce myself.  Grew up in Colorado, I have lived in several other states Texas, Louisiana, Georgia and South Carolina.  I have been a soldier, aircraft mechanic, IT guy, teacher, supervisor, handyman, husband, and father. I brew my own beer, run whenever I can, play the penny whistle, read whatever I can get my hands on, and go to church on Sunday.  I look forward to getting to know you all and being a part of the community."Life is too short for ordinary"  - NickSee More

"By gift I mean this:  by not being afraid of your own pain you are not afraid of others' pain either.  People sense that they can be vulnerable with you and trust you, for you already understand without them having to explain.…"

"That's why the democratic part of democratic socialism is so important. We vote every 4 years here in Ecuador, and there are representatives of all sides of the political/cultural/economical spectrum, there is a healthy opposition, and each…"

"And if you know me well, I have often said to my friends and people in chat calling anyone they don't like a 'Nazi' or a 'Fascist' or 'Brownshirt' is cheap. Why are you telling me all this? I have not called anyone…"

Seitanist Dan replied to Vendetta's discussion Were Hitler and the Nazi's actually Socialist? in the group The Great Debate
"It is incredibly cheap, here at least. It is wise to take all said from even those one likes with a grain of salty. Pessimism and skepticism breeds bountiful rewards when everything goes great, and a healthy shelter when all goes wrong."

Jason Rex Fraser replied to Vendetta's discussion Were Hitler and the Nazi's actually Socialist? in the group The Great Debate
"Be fair people on both sides of the spectrum throw out accusations of Nazism without really knowing what it is. There are a lot of people that are not educated on nor do they want to be educated on Nazism. Calling someone a Nazi is a cheap debate…"

"It's the name of the game. After all democratic elections are a popularity contest so that is pretty natural at this early stage in the race."

"Yes he said I must love my neighbor, not my government. I should give of my own volition, it sort of defeats the point if someone does it for me."
