I'm reading the article on AoM about "Rediscovering the Barber Shop", and as much as I like that idea, I have a few concerns. The article, specifically the section on "Why Every Man Should Go to a…Continue
"I've had this discussion with low-income friends of mine for a long time. I, personally, am effectively unemployed at the moment (being an artist in a bad economy), and they keep saying "See? this will help us both!" And that may…"
"Whether or not that's true (since I don't currently have access to sources one way or the other), Obamacare is intentionally ineffective, because it's not a remedy for the problem of rising healthcare costs. It is a regulatory measure…"
"Can I just be "that guy" for a second, and state that "Lucifer" does not mean "morning star"? Morning Star is a title, commonly used in reference to spiritual stand-ins for the planet Venus. "Lucifer"…"
"Here is my opinion, both as a minister and an armchair theologian:
Get the KJV for your primary Bible. It is the most complete and accurate of the English translations, and has the benefit of sounding really pretty when read aloud. The reason…"
"I will disagree here, because (though I can't cite which specific ones), I know there are at least two verses missing from the NIV and similar things happen with the other "new" translations. If the Word must remain whole, I…"
"As someone who's poor enough to be envious of the situation the "challenge" puts the user in, I find it to be partially inaccurate, and wholly exploitative. I understand that these people are trying to "help", but it mostly…"
12Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own.
13I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,
14I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.
There is a New year Ahead. It is an open page for you to write the rest of your Life.
Defeated People look at what they are going through...Sucessful people look at where they are going to. Don't let the hurts, and failures of the past determine your future. The only person who determines your future is yourself.
Each morning is a new day. Do not let what has happened to you in the Past determine the rest of your life. God's mercy is renewed every morning...I have had many failures in life but I have never been a failure. You are only a failure when you Quit, throw in the towel and admit defeat.
YOU ARE SOMEBODY IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD. NO MORE VICTIMS, FORGET IT AND LET IT GO! NOW WALK INTO THE NEW DAY...GOD BLESS YOU....My young friend I was submitting this to you to see if something like this would be acceptable for gentlemen ecumenists...It is meant to encourage not cause confussion...which is the last thing I should want to do...Dan

"Get an easy basic cookbook for people who've never done it before, with a title like Easy Basics or Where's Mom Now that I Need Her? It'll tell you the things other books assume you know, from how to boil an egg to…"
"I haven't heard of the "kicking citizens out of homes" - I knew they were building new housing, and retrofitting older units.
It's also coming with waves of far-right attacks on refugee centers.
"When I moved out on my own I started out with a frying pan and a Betty Crocker cook book. After a while you get a feel/taste for what things are and can whip things together without a recipe. If you want ease of use, try out A Man a Can…"
I would like to challenge myself and learn how to cook in 30 days. Maybe learn one new reciepe every 3 days. Lately, I've been eating out and I feel that it's not very healthy for me and it also could get very expensive. To tell you the truth I don't really know how to start and decided to make a post here to get some ideas how to make my 30 day challenge to learn to cook make more structure and efficient. Any ideas are welcome, maybe somebody wants to join my challenge or already had similar…See More
