Mike S. replied to Andrew's discussion How do you take your coffee? I prefer it black with a slice of butter in it.
"Coffee has been somewhat of an evolution for me. I used to only take it loaded with sugar and syrup and creamer. Over the years I have cut everything out. This was a conscious effort for me. You see, when you are in the field, the coffee tends to…"

Overcoming Selfishness

As years go by, I find that I am becoming more and more selfish. I don't care to listen to what others have to say to me and tend to let my mind wander. I always seem to be concerned more about my own interests rather than the interests of others, including my wife. I didn't used to be this way, in fact I was quite the opposite. I think there may have been a time when I decided it was time to start taking care of myself, but I've let it go too far.I realise the first step is acknowledging the…See More

Mike S. replied to Raul Duron Jr.'s discussion How can I improve my leadership abilities?
"You can read books and posts, but what it really comes down to is experience and trial by fire. I've been an NCO for six years and I'm still developing my leadership style. Something to consider though is lessons learned from past and…"
