"I am new to AoM and the group. The original post is old, but the topic is good.
I have my nipples pierced. I had always admired pierced guys. It didn't hurt all that much and just for the moment, the second one more as…"
"1" lobes on their way to 1 1/2", 6g seconds, two 8g helix piercings in my left ear, a four-not-quite-yet-two gauge septum, 14g centred labret, and only one tattoo ATM. Plan on 1/2"-3/4" labret, full sleeve blackwork on both arms,…"
"When it comes to awkward social things like this, I first go for a polite change of topic and then jump to a rude and purposefully awkward blunt response if they don't get the hint.
"So how much are you making these days?"
"That's an awful lot of assumptions to draw from my comments.
While I don't feel the need to divulge my personal history (although I will tell you that you are way off base), I can present one example of white privilege that I have seen:…"
"When did I suggest that?
I'm a white upper middle class male who attends a white, upper class private university. I never suggested white privilege is as explicit or as concentrated as that video suggests, nor have I ever witnessed anything…"
"I'll take a look at those readings.
To your other comments, again you have resorted to spewing an opinion on Time Wise without offering any insight as to where, exactly, he is mistaken.
Also, no one is suggesting that you should feel guilty;…"
My favorite subjects are politics, religion, philosophy, and science. If I'm ever just pacing about and musing on some topic, it's very likely one of these. It's very important to me to seek the truth. That's also why I like being proven wrong. It's embarrassing, but it means I'm closer to knowing what's right.
I don't at all read as much as I'd like to. I don't really feel like I have the time. That said, the Harry Potter series is my favorite entertaining read. Some of my favorite nonfiction: The Language Police: How Pressure Groups Restrict What Students Learn by Diane Ravitch; Self-Made Man: One Woman's Journey into Manhood and Back by Norah Vincent; Godless: How an Evangelical Preacher Became One of America's Leading Atheists by Dan Barker
My favorite film is Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, followed by Let the Right One In. Some other favorites include God on Trial, Garden State, Underworld, The Aristocrats, Jesus Camp, Juno, Saved, The Matrix, Shaun Of the Dead, Across the Universe, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, HBO's John Adams, My Best Friend Is a Vampire, The People Speak, Zombieland
I usually listen to Metal/Rock (death metal is love), but I also like Country; Dance/Techno; & Rap/Hip-Hop (old hip hop - today's popular rap is unbelievably awful shit). I also like Classical, and I love Jazz & the Blues. Jazz or Blues will fix any bad day. Oh, and Gregorian chants. (Middle Ages is where it's at, yo!)
Some of my favorites just off the top of my head: A Fine Frenzy, Lamb of God, John Coltrane, BB King, Behemoth, Anna Nalick, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Exodus, Arch Enemy, Tchaikovsky, Little Big Town, Dimmu Borgir, Gregorian chant, Kid Cudi, Lady Gaga, The Dagger Rebellion, Epica, Bill Withers, Eric Church, AC/DC, Dr Dre, Flogging Molly, Trivium, Duke Ellington
You will never regret anything you've done more than you will regret the things you did not do when you had the chance because you were afraid to take a risk.

Hi there Mike. Welcome to AoM! Also, I'd like to give you a friendly invite to check out my group, The Great Debate. Just click on "Groups." It's the one with the colorful galaxy picture. It's also one of the most active groups on AoM. In any case, great to have you with us.
David Francois is exactly right. I am 22 and have been in the exact same situation since I started college.
