Today Spencer and I rode our bicycles out to the campus of Michigan State University (over 30 miles round trip from me), I wanted to take some pictures with my new camera Susan got me for my birthday. My Mom works on campus so we paid her a visit before venturing out to snap some pictures. I will head out once again when the leaves start to turn color. thehuhman's Father's Day blog was wonderful and allowed me a chance to reflect on how good I really do have it in the current turbulent times we live in. I had wrote a couple of poems in honor of my Father who passed away January 1990 at the age of 45. Which I'm only two years from that so I think about it, but dwell on it. I was raised that a man holds the door open for a woman, offers to carry heavy items or perform a dirty task as in a tire change. But a new generation of females has me questioning the values instilled in me. On three different occasions now I have been flat out told to don't bother for one reason or other.
