Advice on Dressing for a Conference

I'm going to a Regional Leadership Conference for the Libertarian Party of Texas at the end of the month, and I'm not sure what the appropriate attire would be. Obviously, I won't walk in wearing jeans and a t-shirt. I typically dress in slacks and a nice button down shirt or polo shirt for leadership meetings at work or for the monthly meetings held by the county affiliation for the party.
