I've just joined Manliness and don't see a group dedicated to cigar aficionados.Any cigar smokers out there? Let's share experiences, nice smokes, etc.Looking forward to hearing from all of you!See More
"I would submit that this is your opinion, and not clearly demonstrated. I would agree that they do likely do not represent good taste, but are they representative of moral decline? I don't think that is clear. Is music a moral issue? Language?…"
"Well said, Vy.
I also see quite a lot of talk about "the things we hold most valuable, being eroded" - but once you get into the nitty gritty of what those things are, despite the general perception - people have a hard time…"
"Need is such an odd word...
With that said - the two bone handled knives are in pockets, every day tasks like opening boxes, cutting rope... the larger of them is particularly nice for cutting apples, cheese, etc for my lunch.
"Do we regularly take the information from the Saudis or the Russians at face value on anything else?
Honestly curious here, do you have a citation? I'm curious what we did if anything, or what prompted them to share this information…"
"1. Axelrod is not Obama, and I didn't hear this voiced from the white house, did you? And domestic muslims would be tax payers too. :/
Are you conflating "tax payers" with "right wing nutjob?" - I heard many media voices…"
"The argument goes something like this: "I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing.""But," says Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway isn't it? It…"
"expectation? I suppose that depends on the woman and your relationship. My wife likes to drive, as do I. I mind driving over long distances less than she, but she's happy to as well...
I tend to drive on the weekends, because I…"
"The question was regarding the use of the word "innocent." Certainly, there are going to be disagreements over who qualifies.
As with so many things, interpretation is problematic. See the Bible, for a case study. "
Surat Al-Furqān 25:68 "Those who invoke not, with God, any other god, nor slay such life as God has made sacred except for just cause, nor commit fornication; - and any that does this meets punishment."

Mid-thirties, with a wife and 18 month old son, living and working in Chicago. I'm a graphic designer/art director for a large consulting firm, and also run my own architectural and product photography business.
I am an atheist, a kalderash rom (gypsy), whiskey drinker, cigar smoker, kilt wearer, do-it-yourselfer, and poet... I am a casual (and perpetual) student of languages, go player, philosophy, physical sciences, mythology, literature and psychology.
I write articles for and work in roma-rights, as well as volunteering and acting as a committee member for other charities and service organizations.

Te aves Baxtalo, I was discussing the use of Gypsy as a Slur and though raised where it was I fear I've become desensitized to it as the infantry turned it to a nickname. How do you feel about it in your life?
Thank you! ^^ though im still rather on the fence of atheism or believing in something. So agnostic might be the way i go. In either case. Thank you an i shall look around, as this is MUCH better then facebook, as this has more a purprose.
Incidentally, nobody runs me off. But I had developed the attitude that I was just going to continue to tell off anybody who wanted to fence with me, and for me that is a very unhealthy attitude. The whole thing had gotten out of control and I had nothing to prove to anyone, anyway. As for presenting facts, I cited a very good book on the subject. If you have a real interest, and are not just on a mission to debunk everything you hear, that would be one I would start with.
Liam, I've had this same experience in other skeptics' groups. They generally exist only to belittle others' beliefs. I've said everything I had to say on the matter, except that based on overwhelming facts, including radar imaging, radiation readings, testimony by otherwise unimpeachable sources (military, police, pilots, etc), and reams of documentation of people describing the same types of craft, I can only conclude that something is going on. I just want to know what it is, and to have people say that all that doesn't even exist, well, it just makes me want to throw my hands up and say "whatever." I was only trying to make conversation, not convince you or anybody else of anything, especially when your minds are clearly already made up. Finally the negativity was just too much of a waste of my time. No hard feelings. I would've sent you a personal message, but it won't work for me and nobody seems to want to fix it.
"I will second the Wild Turkey 101 suggestion. This is what I keep in my bar and I look for good value and good quality when buying alcohol. You can buy something better but dollar for dollar the 101 is hard to beat."
"The problem with N.U.T.S for me is the Un-alterable part.
I'm fine with having base guides and adhering to the guides during times of stress. I'm not fine with thinking that they will not change or need refinement.
I have a few rules…"

"Techera, would you please explain why you keep calling things 'cowardly'? I honestly don't get what you're getting at (as in, I really fail to understand to how what and why it is referring).
Also, you might be right a lot…"
As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I take a look at my life And realize there's nothing left 'Cause I've been blasting and laughing so long That even my momma thinks that my mind has gone But…"
