"Vertx makes really comfortable pants.  They have a variety of colors and fabrics, and all are cut with a gussetted crotch and articulated knees.  I have 4 pair, and that's almost all I wear now."

"I don't understand all of this talk about gussets. Why can't manufacturers simply make the distance between the top of the pant and the end of the crotch longer? It seems like they're all making this distance shorter and shorter, such…"

"Not my intent, but thanks for throwing this out there. Just noticing that most of the time suit pants have ample room while a normal pair of jeans or slacks don't."

"Actually, it's a very real problem.   Wrangler makes a brand of jeans, called Riggs WorkWear, which includes a crotch gusset.  One of the most comfortable designs I've worn."

"Stores and brands that are more high-end are more likely to offer the sort of pants you want.  Brooks Brothers, for example, makes a variety of different fits, from skinny modern to full. "

If so, what pants have worked for you? I've considered BDUs but don't know of anywhere around me that sells them so that I could try them on.Columbia cargo pants work? Thanks for the help.See More

How to teach sportsmanship

Let me start off with a hello to the group. I've been a long time lurker and this will be my first post.Onward.I'm a father of two. A daughter of 8 and a son of 5. Five and a half if you were to ask him.Up to this point in our children's lives, their exposure to sports was limited to gymnastic lessons, until a few weeks ago when we became a soccer family.Tonight at soccer practice my son had a pretty big meltdown which I would love to shrug off as a one time event, but being his father, I have…See More

"In my trunk I have an 18th century tent, a Boy Scout cot, two wool blankets, a sleeping bag, a mallet for tent spikes, rope, a flat of bottled water and a first aid kit. I suppose there's a spare tire and tire iron in there somewhere, too."
