Sir replied to Jesse Dean's discussion What Would You Do?
"Exactly.  It's for fun.  So I see no reason to assume anyone was offended, unless there's evidence.  But I'm not a sports fan, so maybe I"m missing something."

"I freaking hated them back in the late 90's, early 2000's when A&M and them were still in the Big 12. Remember going to the bowl game in San Antonio just to have them corn headed bastards beat us."

"Yes and since that is their only team, it is everyone's team. It is like their professional football team."

"Not what I meant. I'm sure you thought you were being light hearted, it is just that from my own experience of being your age and being in situations with others your age, the light hearted isn't as light as we thought we were being. Hell,…"

Jesse Dean replied to Jesse Dean's discussion What Would You Do?
"What? It was light hearted. I don't think I can learn how to read people's minds and tell if their dad is the coach of the team. But thank you. Maybe they aren't that helpful."

Native Son replied to Jesse Dean's discussion What Would You Do?
"Standard advice you weren't given: "I have rarely got in trouble by keeping my mouth shut." Oh, and don't show up at the next meeting wearing an Sooners team cap."

Portnoy replied to Jesse Dean's discussion What Would You Do?
"Most kids your age aren't good at the light hearted joking that comes with college rivalries. You will learn No one cares what the counselor says or does. I have absolutely no recollection of even having one. Used them once in college and they…"

"If you can't joke about a sports team, what can you joke about? But I'll think about it anyways. So you don't think I should say anything or apologize?"
Sunday
Jesse Dean replied to Jesse Dean's discussion What Would You Do?
"Yeah I know lol. It was obvious I wasn't serious but the fact that her dad was the coach makes it awkward."

Shane replied to Jesse Dean's discussion What Would You Do?
"Next time you have a sit down with her, wear a Buffs tshirt. You're making too big a deal about it. Although for future reference, talking smack about a superior's sports team, especially on a first meeting, is a bad idea."

Sir replied to Jesse Dean's discussion What Would You Do?
"Counselors have a huge impact?  Like most of us here, I went through high school.  I would have called the impact "too small to notice." It sounds like you aren't sure where to stop with joking.  If so, you can always…"

What Would You Do?

Let's say you're a freshman in high school. On your first day, you meet up with your counselor for the first time with some other kids with the same counselor. You do some ice breakers and you learn a little bit about each other. Suddenly, you notice a Nebraska Cornhuskers lanyard that your counselor is wearing and since you are a complete idiot and from Colorado, you strongly condemn the Nebraska team (and it is warranted because, many Nebraska fans are extremely annoying, and because you are…See More

"Thank you, Christian.  Here are the English and the (Google) German translation.  (I am hoping that I was successful in attaching a file to my Word document.  I guess we'll just have to see if it worked.)"

"Yes.  Saw a ring of fire around a black disk.  Supposedly it was the corona, but it was plenty bright. Had so much fun looking thru my 2 pinhole cameras, seeing it on my tablet, and an occasional look thru eclipse glasses."
