I think pea coats are a classic staple to any man's wardrobe. Much like a sport coat, it can bring about a sense of "put togetherness" - with any outfit, even jeans a T-shirt, in my opinion. I just…Continue

"I used to carry a spare magazine for my LC9.  Then I started thinking if I have to reload, I am in a fight I shouldn't be in, so I ditched the extra weight.  That said, I carry 100 rounds of .357 in my jeep."

"Hi all: I carry a Glock G26 Gen3. About 4 years ago someone made a very real threat upon my wife's life. All of the Police and Sheriffs we spoke with suggested that I should get a gun and learn how to use it, so that's exactly what I did."

The Joys of Camping

Posted on April 9, 2010 at 10:00pm 2 Comments

Jason.

Yes my love.

Let's go camping this summer.

Fuck. Here we go again. The joy that is camping.

The adventure begins a few days before hand with the planning of the meals, the purchasing of the essential hot dogs, steaks, chicken, bread, paper plates, forks, spoons, knives, eggs, sausage, bacon, cereal, milk, potatoes, chips, soda, graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate, battery's,…

A Life Unfurled

Come Papa’s girl

take a seat right there

Your life is soon changing

so you must be prepared

Live your life free

And find your own style

Don’t rush into marriage

Go play for awhile

Experience the world

See all that you can

A secluded warm beach

Your feet in the sand

Live life simply

But reach for the stars

And never let others

Define who you are

It does not…

Whiney Man Syndrome: A Theory

Posted on February 5, 2010 at 10:00pm 2 Comments

I have figured it out.

I thought about it. I vigorously rubbed my two brain cells together for an extended amount of time. Friction was created between the two of them, which in turn generated an actual...introspection.

A theory if you will.

I have often wondered if there was any truth to women's claims that we men tend to become more whiny in our infantile need to be…

Walking Uphill Both Ways

Posted on February 4, 2010 at 12:00pm 2 Comments

For reasons unknown to me, I have been reflecting a lot lately about how things "used to be". Like an old man shaking his fist at the world while crying out about "those darn kids today"! Constantly comparing the current world we live in against the one that I grew up in back in the 70's and 80's.

I think this whole thing was sparked the other day when I accidentally left my cell phone at work for a day. I really wasn't too concerned about it. In fact, it was actually a bit freeing… Continue

Thanks Jason - I lived a short few months in London 30 years ago, and in Portugal for half a year, where I always seemed to hook up with the americans. I felt more at ease with americans. I still do. I'm trying to sharpen my language skills by participating in communities like this. But my English still lack some "finesse" I'll admit. I won't be a poet in English any day soon.
