Jason P. Franklin replied to Matt's discussion Finding Christian Male Friends in the group Christian Men
"I too wish I could offer you some solid advice. Alas, I am in a similar boat. Though it's not advice, per se, I can simply share my situation and the path I am taking.  The last deep friendship I had was while church planting but he…"

First Clue?

Apparently a FEMA videographer asked cleanup volunteers in Mississippi to change their Salvation Army T-shirts before he would film their efforts. The feature on Fox News was interesting enough in its own right. What was surprising was the statement by the news show anchor that she wasn't aware the Salvation Army was a Christian organization. What? Really? The word…See More

Simple Pleasures

What are some of life’s simple pleasures?Watching the kids play in the pool (and indoor heated pool no less). Taking them to a Children’s Museum, along with my parents and sister, and watching the kids explore, romp, learn and have a blast. Sending Maggie and Jenn off with my mom and sister for some girl time. Eating In-N-Out burgers with my Dad. Putting the little ones down for naps and taking one myself.Good night moon...See More

Burn Notice

Posted on May 13, 2010 at 9:30am 2 Comments

Yesterday evening I did something amazingly stupid. After making sure the coals in the barbecue were hot I cleaned the grill, then lifted said grill to spread the coals out. The trouble is, I grabbed the grill with my bare hand.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I…

Being Fleeced

Posted on May 3, 2010 at 6:30pm 0 Comments

Maggie had a spelling assignment where she had to write sentences using the spelling words. Here’s one she wrote using the spelling words “wool” and “ceiling”.

“Hey look! The wool is on the ceiling.”

I guess if I looked closer at the picture, I would've noticed the brand. Actually, after looking, the front fender reminds me a little of an Indian.

It's Jordan's hand (my niece). I'll have to try to find the original picture to confirm that. But, if I remember correctly, this was the day I took her and a friend hiking at Lassen.

To change or not to change, that's the question - Hairstyles

I'm thinking about changing my hairstyle. Although I'm not certain if I want to. I might want it shorter, but I'm a bit 'afraid' that it'll won't look good, and I'll walk around like a fool (I've some childhood horrors with short hair (It looks horrible, imo)). The hairstyle I've right now is okay. I'm happy with it, but it could be better, depending on the situation. One other problem I have with my hair is (I use gel and hairspray to keep it a bit in place), is that my hair somehow manages to…See More

Ammo shortage or manufactured crisis?

Posted in Gentleman Gunners. If you have the opportunity to shoot with any frequency, you may have noticed a little issue of procuring ammo over the past couple years. If you needed it you had to shop around, call all over the place, or go to every gun shop and show in "tri-state area."Generally the answers were, "We don't have any, but if we did you could pay our exorbitant prices and only buy a couple of boxes."  There was a lot of blame to go around...manufacturing lags, hoarding, zombies,…See More
