"I agree with Dallas.  You don't need long term goals ... you need short-term goals.  You need something to work toward daily, not annually, or in a half-decade. You need a bucket list -- things you want to see, or learn, or…"

Hey all, I'm a 53 year old divorcee with 2 grown successful daughters. My kids are my motivation, but they have their lives to lead and new relationships to develop. I'm not the all knowing central figure in their lives that I once was.I don't see a clear path anymore. Sure, I have a few ideas of where I need to be in a 5 years or so but the end view is always the same: planning for my burial in a veteran cemetery,. ( what a drag ).I miss the days of my youth when I could rock the world and…See More

John Muir replied to James Head's discussion Manliness. Doe's it matter?
"I disagree, sir.  Rites of manhood are to be found in most tribal cultures - to include Judaism. Therefore I've found that tribal cultures are staged against a definition of manliness - usually a clearly defined one often discussed and…"

Biggles?

Anyone here ever read Biggles, by Cpt. WE Johns? I read the books more than any other books when I was a kid. Biggles taught me more about being a man than anyone else, real or fictional. Had about half of the 95 or so books that were written. Favorites were the WW1 ones, but they were all good.
