"I agree with Dallas.  You don't need long term goals ... you need short-term goals.  You need something to work toward daily, not annually, or in a half-decade. You need a bucket list -- things you want to see, or learn, or…"

"My thought would be to can the 5 year goal. Set 1 year goals. Set something realistic, and get it. You've done a lot already, instead of planning ahead so much, work at just living. Clear the bucket list. Instead of saying I want to be here in…"

Hey all, I'm a 53 year old divorcee with 2 grown successful daughters. My kids are my motivation, but they have their lives to lead and new relationships to develop. ( what a drag ).I miss the days of my youth when I could rock the world and…See More

John Muir replied to James Head's discussion Manliness. Doe's it matter?
"I disagree, sir.  Rites of manhood are to be found in most tribal cultures - to include Judaism. Therefore I've found that tribal cultures are staged against a definition of manliness - usually a clearly defined one often discussed and…"

"We were like that not too long ago, we were mostly an agrarian nation, with the cities populated by throngs of immigrant factory workers. The middle class was tiny. Most were preoccupied with survival; there was no time for positing or role…"
