Vintage Suits

I just figured we needed a thread to discuss how awesome vintage suits are.I just got lucky the other day and ordered a vintage 1950's suit from Hallaballoo... I mean Ballyhoo. It fits me perfectly, as if it was tailored for me. I plan to get the sleeves slightly adjusted when I have time to take it to a tailor, but other than that it fits perfectly. I plan to wear it with a black fedora that I have, and obviously with a dress shirt and a tie.…See More

Biggles?

Anyone here ever read Biggles, by Cpt. WE Johns? I read the books more than any other books when I was a kid. Biggles taught me more about being a man than anyone else, real or fictional. Had about half of the 95 or so books that were written. Favorites were the WW1 ones, but they were all good.

Posted on August 24, 2016 at 6:00pm 0 Comments

What I learned from the Royal Guards

1. Pleats are awesome.

2. How to iron shirts and pants, polish shoes to ridiculousness, and press uniforms.

3. Sometimes it's better to just be quiet and call for a patrol when somebody is insulting you.

4. Royalty are cool people with a wicked sharp sense of fashion.

5. It's a crazy world full of grown up babies and irresponsible people.

6. The treasure chamber is that way.

CCO have tons of suits at reasonable prices. You'll have to have the pants hemmed at a tailor's as they normally sell them unhemmed, but it should… Continue
