Native Son replied to GK's discussion Calling in sick to attend a job interview?
"One discreet way I've seen, and used, is this: You get the interview, etc., scheduled. You inform your employer you have an appointment and need to take such-and such a date off work. I wouldn't specify you're taking a sick day…"

The Beacon is Lit.

It's Pearl Harbor Day.

On the evening of December 7, 1941, the aircraft navigation beacon on top of Mt. Diablo, east of San Francisco, CA was not lit for the first time since 1928.

The rotating beacon has a visual range of some 200 miles, well within the flight range of 1941 carrier based bombers, and it was feared that Japanese would use the beacon to bomb the San Francisco area.

The beacon was not relit until December 7, 1964.

It will be lit…

Culmination Day.

If you dare to cross the Bridge/tunnel, try Cable Car Clothiers 2 blocks from my office. I know they have straight razor implements. Even if they don't have what you're looking for, I imagine they'd be able to tell you where to look.
