I am a Canadian but I follow American news for obvious reasons. I could not help but notice the increase of school shootings being reported. I am just curious what you men have to say about gun or…Continue

My life goal is to become the possible man I can be. Standing by what I believe in, supporting my family, protecting things and people dear to me and sacrificing myself if needed.

Most people my age I meet cannot relate to me this way and so I don't have anyone to talk to on the matter of manliness.
I have my own code and my definition by differ but I believe there are many different kids of men. Be it poets, warriors, artisans or stay at home fathers, there are different kind of men.

This may sound strange but since my father was usually at the office when I was younger, I found comfort and teachings from different sources. One of these sources though unorthodox and childish was Japanese Manga (comics). The common theme of fighting and protecting what is dear to you such as beliefs, friends and family were drilled into me after many years.

I played American Football for five years during high school and have to say that it truly molded me into who I am. The comradeship, the passion and the struggle all were amazing and those fives seasons were the best of my life.
Books
Due the Japanese influence on me, I idolize the Samurai, as such my two favorite books are
1. Hagakure
2. The Book of the Five Rings

Please suggest me books!

Many mangas.
Movies
Tropic Thunder
Ghost Dog
First Transformers
Music
Sabaton and ManOwaR are my two favorite metal groups
I especially enjoy 80's rock
Johnny Cash.

"I'm a French press devotee myself. Best appliance I ever got for the kitchen was a hot water dispenser. It puts out near-boiling water (205 degrees), so I can just fill up the press and go to town - no heating water.  It's a…"

The Great Debate

"Iron sharpens iron." A place for men to impact each other by debate and exchange of ideas. This is a group where no ideas are off limits. If your motto is, "I never talk about politics or religion," this group is probably not for you. A "gym" for thinkers.See More

"Since you only braced the bottom, I suggest you put some weight on the upper half and see if you are still satisfied with its stability before you make the other three shelves."

Hike on Saturday

I love hiking.  I usually go alone, or with my dog.  The solitude and peace "up there" is, for me, unmatched in the world. Here's a GoPro video link if you want to follow me along. Warning: It is 20 minutes long and 3GB.https://www.dropbox.com/s/8vz5u717yr8u03e/South%20Mountain%20%282017%29.mp4?dl=0See More

"Interesting list of arts.  I don't agree that all of these are necessary for a man to learn, but hey, neither is Minecraft and I enjoy it in my downtime.  I look forward to your next post."
