Being Sick

Late last week, I came down with a cold. snivel snivel. It was a bad enough cold that by the end of the day, I would just want to get in bed a couple of hours early, dope up on Nyquil, and sleep it off. My wife however, would get offended at the time that I was trying to get in my cold remedy, because I wouldn't let her take care of me. So after 10 years of being together, I had to explain a couple of things to her about me being sick.

Sleeping on the couch

So last night I slept on the couch. For many people they would think that means that my wife and I are fighting, but in this case, that just isn't so. So let me explain, we have a sleep number bed, I love my sleep number bed, and somehow the air chamber that is on my side of the bed wont hold air any more. I called sleep number and they are sending me a new chamber. Well instead of sleeping on the bed that cannot support my body, I decided to sleep on the couch. Destructive Cats

My wife and kids convinced me a couple of years ago that we needed to have some cats. So we went and got kittens. Now we have full grown cats that have taken to chewing on clothing and other destructive behaviors. This didn't bother me when they chewed on my wife's clothes, they are her cats, and as such, she should control them, and buys her own clothes anyway. I lost my lid when they chewed up a pair of my socks, and explained to my family that I am not going to have animals in my house that… Continue

I remember when I was a kid, my dad would take me to the barbershop every saturday morning. First we would go way out of our way and eat breakfast. The diner was in the opposite direction of the barber, then we would drive back by our house and go to the barber. At the barber shop, my dad would let me have a candy bar and a grape soda. This was bottled grape soda. The soda machine opened in the front released one bottle at a time, and had a bottle opener on the side. I would sit, eat my candy… Continue
