Yesterday at church -- when cold wind was blowing all over the place -- a guy came in and I think meant to say to me, "It's really nippy outside, isn't it?"  Instead he said -- with a straight face so I don't think he knew that he was misspeaking --…Continue

This afternoon I had the opportunity to read the Dec. 2, 2013 issue of Time magazine while waiting in a doctor's office, and it had a fascinating article about how boys think in today's world.  Important examples given were, for example- boys have…Continue

Toilet seat

I am amused/irritated when I hear women talk about how rude men are by leaving the seat up in the bathroom (I say I don't lower it because I believe in gender equality; when men come in they adjust the seat as needed, and women are just as smart as…Continue

Marriage etc.

Several years back I heard someone defend the right of sexual minorities to be married, using this train of thought which I would like to share here in the Out to Build Bridges group.Marriage is a legal contract between persons.  In much/most of Europe, this is a legal ceremony that is done in a legal setting, and then after that if the persons involved wish it, they go to a religious setting for a religious liturgy.  The legal ceremony and the religious ceremony are separate. What makes it…See More

Interests
I have been in the Men's Movement for over 25 years. We are men of all ages who are military, professional, artistic, and craftsmen (such as carpenters and plumbers). We are men who are interested in sports, hunting, the arts, and many other areas. We are men who are of many and of no religion. We recognize and celebrate our differences and support one another as good creations. We stand up for one another when someone is attacked and we fight for equality among all men and women. We seek to help men to break out of stereotypes that society can force upon them and to be themselves. We help men to form authentic friendships rather than what is so common among men in many settings, where all that is done between them is to brag and step on each other. We are men, and we are proud of it. We do not want to be women, we do not want to be children. We are men.

Thanks for adding me! I'm just getting used the forum and groups etc but really enjoying it so far. Community is really nice and helpful, unlike a lot of places online or in real life for that matter. I pride myself on being honest and to the point in any discussion. See you around here buddy!

Hi David,

I just read your Profile Information/Interests, and I am VERY impressed with what you have written.

I am very involved with the men's movement here in New England, through the Massachusetts Men's Gatherings and the Rhode Island Men's Gatherings. What you have written is the best description I have seen describing what we stand for in these men's groups. Thank you for your thoughtful words.

Sorry I couldn't respond, my computer is acting up. My page has links to my flash fiction. I just read what you have posted about the Men's Movement and would like to ask you a few things.

Good to meet you.   I found this site after looking around at stuff online re the Men's Movement.  Kind of weird it was, found several sites that seemed kind of reactionary and crazy, misogynist to say the least.

Learned about the movement from a guy in Maine about 20 years ago.  Good stuff.
