I just received my new glasses from the optometrist but I'm not happy with the lenses. I have a prescription of -5.25 and 5.00 so they're definitely thick. When I first purchased them they brought up…Continue

Profile Information

Going out with my friends, music, movies, and clothes. That's a pretty basic list for me.
Anything by Bukowski is good. I enjoy Hemingway as well.
Inglourious Basterds, movies directed by Clint Eastwood, The Dark Knight, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked up, Zombieland, and 40 Year Old Virgin. I enjoy comedies but I tend to stick with more serious movies.
The Clash, the Replacements, Kings of Leon, Hank Williams Sr., Johnny Cash, the Zombies, and the Rolling Stones. I'll listen to anything so long as I can relate to it.
Pints of Guinness make you stronger.

Thanks for the add, David. Have you ever worked in a library before? If not, try either getting a part-time job or volunteering at your local library. I worked in libraries all through my undergrad (community college and also my alma mater). And when I decided to go back to grad school (got my Master's degree in library science from University of Pittsburgh), I volunteered at my neighborhood's local branch - a good experience.

If you have any other questions, I would be glad to try and answer them. Good luck to you!

Hi there David. Welcome to AoM. Also, thought I'd give you a friendly invite to check out my group, The Great Debate. Just click on "Groups." It's the one with the colorful galaxy picture. It's also one of the most active groups on AoM. In any case, great to have you aboard.

"Meh. The whole thing is a bit too hipster for me. I just quietly write checks to the charities that are closest to my heart and roll out. The mustache is purely because I like it."

Movember 2015

I was just wondering if any of y'all plan on contributing or doing anything for Movember this year? As you all (should probably) know Movember is a cause/movement where men grow mustaches for the month of November to raise awareness for mens health concerns and problems.  It's a good cause and I am just wondering what you normally do?  Last year I grew a mustache.  I tried to find a picture but I guess I didn't take any.  Feel free to share your mustache pictures from the past or for this year…See More

"I am over it.  One of the main non-sexual issues it left for me (and for other boys molested by males) is the difficulty in trusting men -- when most of your bosses are men, that can be a big issue.  Usually it takes a guy to reach his 30s…"
