I'm about 23,000 in debt to 4 loans.  I'm wanting to pay them of as fast as I can, but will paying them off as fast as I can pass up opportunities?  I'd say my net income is below 20,000.  I make…Continue

Eh, I think I've fallen into a little rut.  Work is the same old same old, hours fluctuate, I'm scheduled week to week like everyone else, and it doesn't give you the best planning.  Most plans have…Continue

Looking into a new Profession: Electrician

I've been thinking about leaving the Pharmacy Tech. World and becoming an Electrician.  There are a lot of physical comforts, no heavy lifting, A/C work space. At times: Simple and easy fixes. Alright benefits.  Also, polite and grateful customers... sometimes. The downside?  Customer service: people not understanding their insurance and taking it out on you.  People dangling their health over your head to manipulate you. Certain Co-workers seem to not care, and at times you are affected by piss…See More

"That first savings plan is WAY too slow. In my opinion. Ramsey's first level emergency fund is supposed to be quick. Maybe a month or two, depending on your income and what you can sell. $1,300 over a year isn't much at all. JB"

"Here's a simple pair of alternate "savings plans." 1. Go modest. If you start with $25.00/week, that's $1300.00 put away over a year. At least you've achieved Mr. Ramsy's first level of emergency fund savings. 2. When…"

Globalism

There's been a lot of talk about globalism lately, so I want to get people's opinions on whether it's a good thing or not (it's not necessary to read and respond to the following diatribe, a simple answer to this question would be appreciated). From my perspective, it's unequivocally a good thing that happens to have bad consequences for some people, but benefits the same people in some ways as well.  I understand that a lot of small, one-industry towns are dying, partially as a result of…See More
