Rick replied to Conor Fergus's discussion Pipes vs. Cigars?
"Pipe smoking doesn't have to be expensive to start.  I suggest going to a local tobacconist and buying either a corn cob pipe or a "basket pipe." Basket pipes are basically factory seconds or other no-name brands but are usually…"

"Pipes are great. I smoke both cigars and pipes, and enjoy my pipe a bit more than cigars. With a pipe you can just light up, have a few puffs, put it out, and repeat a few hours later. Depending on the pipe you buy it can be pricey. As for tobacco…"

"Curious as to why you didn't answer what the first person asked, too sensitive of an issue for you? Insecure? Or did you just not see it? I'm also curious as to what leads most people to smoking, what was it for you, if you care to answer?"

"It is less expensive. Some smoke shops carry a wide variety of tabaco blends. Is if well worth a try I recomend you try a corn cobb pipe. It is very inexpensive and among the best reguarded."

"I enjoy a good cigar, but I'm a pipe guy all the way. Typically pipe tobacco runs around $4.00/ounce at tobacco stores and comes in multiple flavors. Smooth, Fun, Smells Amazing."

"Okay. This looks quite promising so far. I'm going to be using it again tonight so I'll try out these tips then and hope it helps. It was fired at the factory. Don't know if that means it should be less likely to go out though."
