If I Were President - Part 1: Inauguration Speech

This was a concept that I have been thinking about for quite some time.  I would have preferred to do it in a video/blue screen format on YouTube to make it appear as if I were actually addressing my fellow United States citizens. The concept is simple.  What would I say to the American people and Congress if I were made president?  It is a moot point because, it will never happen but, seriously, if I were put into that position, what would I do?  How would I endeavor to inspire the peoples of…See More

Interests
I have a lot of interests, but will try to list the top few.

My Catholic Faith - yes, it is also an interest for me as I actually strive to find logical reasoning for Church teaching outside of the Bible.

Video Production
Podcasting
A new interest in History, currently with a focus on the Founding Fathers of the US and what inspired them.
A new interest in game programming/development.
Books
I enjoy fantasy, science fiction, Catholic non-fiction, Christian non-fiction and have been reading some historical/biographical stuff lately as well.

I do not limit myself to these genres and will be investing some time and energy into working my way through the top 100 books every man should have in his library as well.
Movies
Ghostbusters
Star Wars - Original non-special edition trilogy or the "Revisited" versions found at http://swrevisited.wordpress.com/ .
Lord of the Rings
Alien trilogy

There are others but, these are by far my favorites.
Music
I prefer classic rock to anything that is made today. I also enjoy what I refer to as Progressive/Symphonic Metal and some Catholic/Christian music, including a rapping Franciscan priest.

"...so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us." --Gandalf, J.R.R. Tolkien,

The Lost Art of Self-Reliance

Posted on July 19, 2012 at 12:30pm 3 Comments

It has become apparent to me over time that in modern Western societies a major problem has developed. Individual persons and families no longer rely on themselves for the safety, and security of their properties, obtaining of goods and services and of their liberties. Instead, partially due to a change from an agrarian, to industrial to technological society and partially due to the degradation of the concepts of honor, pride and self-worth, peoples have become more dependent upon others to…

Are Muslims Silent or Is The Media Negligent?

In a relatively short period of time we have seen two horrific assaults; the Boston bombing and the London mutilation of a soldier. Both were committed by Muslim terrorist (or extremists if one wants to be politically correct).  In both cases, I was pretty shocked by the lack of response from the Muslim communities. When Catholic priests were exposed as molesters and the local bishops as enablers in covering it up, I recall many Catholics, myself included, vocally outraging against these…See More
