Profiles in Manliness - Coach Eddie Roberts

Coach Eddie RobertsJoe Cope, Chris Hutcheson, Matthew Rabine, Michael Baker, Sean MurphyOne day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.”“Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of…See More

Haha. Yeah, the change definitely came at the right time. I love dropping a bomb and stirring up the proverbial hornets nest. Lots of fun.

Chris, I TOTALLY love the quote in your profile. Is it YOURS? or is it attributed to someone else? There's just something about it. It reminds me of who and what we are, on this earth. Thanks!
PS: Now don't go changing it.

Chris, how did you make your photo? I like the effect, and would like to duplicate it on some of my photos.

Yeah. I'm working on a system to get rid of trolls and promote readers who are contributing value to the site with their comments. For example, I've installed the voting on comments feature. Users can burry a commenter if their comment sucks and doesn't add anything to the conversation.

Another option I'm thinking about adding is requiring people to be a member of the AoM social network before they can comment. You'll have to sign into the network before you comment. This will do two things: 1) reduce the amount of sucky commenters because you can no longer hide behind a cloak of anonymity and 2) increase community interaction with people who are truly interested in adding value to the conversation.

To put it succinctly: things are about to get really bad ass up in this place.
