Life as we know it at times seems insanely chaotic, as if we are on a roller coaster that never ceases. Yet at times, life seems so incredibly peaceful, as if we are sailing on the calmest sea. Sadly enough, I have came to the realization that at one point in my life, I will take one last breath and life as I know it will come to an end. Recently I have been so deeply convicted to truly live my life to the absolute fullest. This conviction is not birthed out of the fear of the unknown, it is a… Continue

The Pursuit-an effort to capture

Have you ever thought what this world would look like if the majority of people would be persistent in the pursuit of their dreams? I am deeply moved and humbled by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In the face of countless adversities, trials, sacrifices, and moments of success Dr King never waffled from his pursuit of his dreams for humanity. I think that is one of the most beautiful aspects of Dr. King, his dream was not self-centered, his dream…

Discipline

In recent days I am learning the root of many of humanity's issues is lack of discipline. Many people that have crossed my path throughout my journey have struggled financially as a result of not having discipline to not overspend. Many people like myself have struggled with their weight due to lack of discipline with their eating habits. Many people that struggle with gossiping is due to lack of discipline with their tongue. Many children act up or don't obey due to lack of discipline.… Continue

Chad, Your blogs put me into rememberance of what I am supposed to be doing such as discipline and having my focus on Christ. It would sure defeat my depression. Thanks.

Oh by the way, I used to worked for Lauren Engineers for over a year. While in Abilene I helped the architect design the addition on North 1st St. My drawings called for an exact duplicate of the original 1906 architecture.

Hey, Chad. I wasn't offended by your "barstool theology" post, in fact, I'm glad that you posted it. I hope I didn't offend you in my response--I'm just passionate about Christ (as I'm sure you are) and defending the truth once and forever entrusted to the saints.

Hi there Chad. Welcome to AoM. I just drove through your town the other day on my way back home from the holidays. Anyway, thought I'd also give you a friendly invite to check out my group, The Great Debate. Just click on "Groups." It's the one with the colorful galaxy picture. It's one of the most active groups on AoM right now. In any case, great to have you aboard.

The Great Debate

"Iron sharpens iron." A place for men to impact each other by debate and exchange of ideas. This is a group where no ideas are off limits. If your motto is, "I never talk about politics or religion," this group is probably not for you. A "gym" for thinkers.See More

Hike on Saturday

I love hiking.  I usually go alone, or with my dog.  The solitude and peace "up there" is, for me, unmatched in the world. Here's a GoPro video link if you want to follow me along. Relatively new here; thought I'd say hello

Hello men,I'm not new to Art of Manliness, but I am new to the community. I thought I'd take the time to introduce myself. I'm almost 30, married for just over a year, and we have our first child on the way. I'm Mormon. I worked for five years sewing men's clothing, which is perfectly fine as a manly career in my opinion, but it was a dead-end job ultimately, so I quit and became an electrician. I'm still in my first year as an apprentice, but I'm very happy doing it. Before that, I was…See More
