Liam Strain replied to Brandon Shelburg's discussion Speaking Outloud in the group Philosophers
"The heart is a reflex organ, the brain may respond to stimulus, but it also processes, analyzes, synthesizes, etc. A huge number of complicated, non-reflexive actions and processes.    That would be like saying a computer in input…"

"Yes, in the same way that aside from reflexes, it must talk to itself before moving your arm, or leg, or pouring a cup of coffee... almost by definition, the brain must do these things first. Sometimes the decision trees are conscious, sometimes…"

"I agree. The thought originated from the brain communicating with itself then deciding that a certain thought was worth sharing. Basically, the brain has to talk to itself before one can speak; if that makes it more clear. "

Liam Strain replied to Brandon Shelburg's discussion Speaking Outloud in the group Philosophers
"No, talking is inviting communication with other brains. Not just verbalized internal dialog. "
