Hey guys. I have been brewed a few batches of beer now, all have been different styles of ales. I have had an odd occurrence with a few of them. There has been an odd after taste, sort of like plastic. It has not been present in all of my batches which makes it more strange. I am doing small batches in food grade plastic buckets; but I am told that that wont cause the off taste. Have any of you experienced this; or know what could be causing it? See More

Hey gents! I have been making my own bread now for a couple of years and I just can't get the loaf to taste like the bakery bread. It always tastes like it comes from the bread machine ( I don't even have one!!) I have tried a sourdough starter and other types of yeast strains; I use bread flour; ive tried different types of fats and oils; I have hand kneaded and used my wife's kitchen aide... all to no avail.
