Hedgehog's Dilemma

Schopenhauer, and later Sigmund Freud wrote about this allegory. It basically describes a bunch of hedgehogs in the cold, who want to cluster together and share heat, but their spines stab each other when they get close. Eventually they learn that the only tolerable course of action is moderate distance. This is a metaphor for human intimacy. I've come to think a major part of living is finding the right level of distance and closeness with people. What do you guys think?See More
