"I think it's here that I read that a shorter commute means greater happiness, statistically. I'm about 15 miles from my parents and see them about once/month. I work long hours, and my husband and I plan outings well in advance. My parents…"

"Lots of tradeoffs, to be sure.  I can make a few observations: * I'd guess that the difference of being 15 min away from family and 30 min away, say, is not big.  You'll not see them w/o some planning, but planning is minimal. *…"

"You should not look 10 years out in terms of school. When my daughter was in kindergarten they were using creative spelling; spelling words like they sound instead of the actual spelling. The teacher was writing words on the board like this and she…"

Deciding Where to Move

A little background my self and my family. I am just about 26 years old, and my wife is 24. We have a 16 month old daughter, and a second daughter due in a few months. Our current home is a small 2 bedroom house built in 1946. We bought it in 2008, and have lived there since. The house has a cottage kind of feel and was a good starter house for use while we started our lives on our own and started our family. Now that our family is growing, we are considering moving to a different area. My…See More

Austin replied to Corbin's discussion Should I put $2 bills in my wallet?
"It's an interesting idea. Though the problem is, they are not any more useful than other bills. The real benefit to using them is as a conversation starter. I have seen this work for a couple people. Trading 2 ones for a $2 bill, or using it at…"

"What you are talking about is pretty typical. It sounds like you are both in what I call an infatuation phase. Being in love at this point in a relationship is like a chemical addiction. There is no good way to balance without being in at least a…"

"Thanks for the response an induction over here (I'm from Northern Ireland by the way) is like they bring you in and go over the job, the rules and policy's like health and safety and that sort of thing. The job itself is picking orders in…"

"Not sure exactly what an "induction" is. I wouldn't wear a suit to a warehouse job, though.  Dressing to impress is fine, but not if it's going to get in the way of you doing the job.  Is it a manual labor job, or an…"

New job, induction dress code

Hello gents,As the title suggests I have been invite to a new job induction. When I say new job induction I mean I am not quite sure weather I have fully got the job, that is why I am in a bit of a pickle. I recently became unemployed through no fault of my own, I left my old job as a shop assistant to try the hospitality industry, and I did not like it one bit, the hours were horrible, the management poor, and in general I had a really poor experience. So I applied for a few other role through…See More

Wild Man replied to Mongoose's discussion Question on Shoulders/Shirt Fit in the group Exercise
"you can get work shirts tailored. I've actually looked on youtube and it's easy if you know someone who sews. or you can take one to the local tailor n see how much they charge. How much work/lifting are you doing for your shoulders?"

Mongoose replied to Mongoose's discussion Question on Shoulders/Shirt Fit in the group Exercise
"I alter them myself. The problem is that you cannot alter a shirt's shoulders. I usually am able to find shirts which fit, and have a great wardrobe. It's just an issue for work shirts or other shirts which do not have an athletic fit."
