Hi folks,

I thought I had better post and update you all on our family's progress.

Our first child was born on September 8th. She (a girl!) was 8lbs 1oz at birth. She is now very big and beautiful. She is 8 weeks and 1 day today. All is well. After an 18 hour labour, it ended up a caesarian delivery. The professionals aren't quite sure why she didn't come out, possibly due to her head being VERY wide.

At Every Turn...

My wife is pregnant with our first child. There are only 29 days left till our due date! Things are getting pretty real now.

Now, I'm not sure if it's because my antennae are up or if this is a real social trend, but I feel like I'm seeing more and more in the media about manhood and fatherhood. Blogs, Radio, News reports, water-cooler talks... I feel there's someone talking about the gravity and importance of fathers and men in society.

I think there is a real movement today… Continue

He has a leather bag.
He walks with confidence.
He loves his wife, he loves his children.
He works hard.
He plays hard too.
He knows more than you think.
He can cook.
He brews his own beer.
Coffee too.
He can build a fire.
He is good with his hands.
His mind is sharp.
He appreciates good things.
He is disciplined.
He is fit.
He is strong.
His children love to play.

Vintage Suits

I just figured we needed a thread to discuss how awesome vintage suits are.I just got lucky the other day and ordered a vintage 1950's suit from Hallaballoo... I mean Ballyhoo. It fits me perfectly, as if it was tailored for me. I plan to get the sleeves slightly adjusted when I have time to take it to a tailor, but other than that it fits perfectly. I plan to wear it with a black fedora that I have, and obviously with a dress shirt and a tie.…See More

First date: success not optional but mandatory

I have a date tomorrow night with a girl I met online. While this may sound like great news and the answer to lifelong joy, I want to make sure that this leads to a second date, and that I don't make a "death move" to end all chances of seeing her again. This is the early cultivation phase of a relationship, the kind of relationship I have been praying for , that leads to romantic love, marriage and procreation.  All of my experience with the few dating I have has been unsuccessfulSo, at this…See More
