"That's Mark Tinsky's company. I have several of his pipes (great smokers by the way). I have never bought his pipe kits however - when I tried my hand at it a number of years ago now, I bought all of my supplies from Stemco-Pimo out of…"

"From what I've seen, the guys who are real methodical produce about 100-200 a year if they are full-time makers, but their pipes sell for $200-2000+. Other guys who make more basic shapes and work in teams are able to create up to 1,000-1,500 a…"

"I love my light-weight bent billiard, but as I make more pipes, I'm finding that my list of shapes I enjoy is growing.    I'm still refining my taste and trying new tobaccos. I honestly know more about pipe-shaping than tobaccos.…"

"My first few sales have all been custom orders and I love to do them, but your particular order might be a big more difficult.    Briar is one of the densest woods available and is extremely hard to carve well. That would mean I would have…"

"P.S.     Would you consider taking a commission for a custom pipe?    I've always dreamed of getting a good smoker with a Masonic emblem engraved into the side of the bowl. "

"Beautiful. My favorite smoker and oldest pipe is exactly like your "Distinguished Mans' Pipe".  I paid 65 dollars for it retail, about 15 years ago, so I think your prices are pretty well in line.   I just might have to…"
