1930s Cooper Safety Razor and Blades in Original Box
RICHARDS RAZORS; MAKE ME AN OFFER I CAN'T REFUSE!
This highly collectible Cooper Safety Razor is in good+ vintage condition.
It is a nice collection piece or would make a great daily shaver. The razor
is in good working order. The handle feels great in hand and the balance is
nice. It has very light wear with minor scratches.
As can be seen in the pictures there is a tiny spot of plate loss
on one side of the head. This Cooper razor uses regular double edge razor
blades unlike its predecessors which only used blades made by Cooper. It
was manufactured by the Cooper Safety Razor Corp. of Brooklyn, NY. It was
patented in 1932. The Cooper trademark was first used in 1932, but I
haven't been able to establish how long the products were on the market. The
razor comes in the Original box of purchase, which as you can see is
a bit worn from time. It also comes with the NOS box of unopened Cooper
razor blades.
The Cooper turns out to be a fine shaver, gets very close to the
skin and lets you hear every whisker being mowed down. The razor is made of
die cast metal and not brass but a nice die cast job it was. Some complain
that the seams on the handle are cheap, perhaps, however, look at most of the
Cooper razors that occasionally pop up for sale, no cracks on those handles!
Those seams act as a stress reducer, they have more "give & take" than a
hard metal handle. I get fine shaves, very close indeed and the razor is
not picky about what you feed it. It is no problem at all using a regular
double edge blade.

When I describe an object as 'VINTAGE' or 'ANTIQUE' they will have the typical wear and tear you
would expect with an older piece. Light scratches, scuffing & crazing and such like would be
expected as opposed to a NEW condition. If an item is in MINT condition I will say so. If an item
has any major issues - dents, deep marks, stains or heavy scratches etc. I will bring these to your
attention in my description. All sales final.
