Comment by Ian Wilson on November 29, 2012 at 11:49pm LM, it had nothing to do with you joining the group per se. every once in a while, we all get a burst of spam emails. it is a cat'n'mouse game, that tends to win in our favor most of the time.
Comment by Daniel Tharp on August 13, 2012 at 11:58am Hello, I've been reading this site along time but decided to join the forums and see what kind of gems there are out here. Came straight to the writers group because that is my sideline gig outside the day job. I have self published a Novel, Novella and am writing Military History articles for www.sofrep.com If you go there, the search box and type in Dan Tharp, you will see my series on The Rhodesian Bush War. I have a new once coming out soon on the Rhodesian SAS. My books are on Amazon in the kindle section. Task Force Intrepid The Gold of Katanga and Highway to Hell.
Looking forward to meeting other Writers with Manliness in their writing. www.taskforceintrepid.com
Comment by Peyton Quinn on May 2, 2012 at 11:51am Well good people I am writng a pre-quel to my last novel and now that last novel is bringing in about $200 a month consistently from Amazon's ebook sales I say 200 ain't much but money is money!.
I had Lion's Gate Entertainment contact me about a film veriosn of the novel, but they went with children's film in China /US deal instead. I do find it easier to write the second novelas the cnetral character is eatsblished in my mind and the audience for the previous book.
And Gary! let me send you a copy of Dog Soidiers MC perhaps you can nmake a decent script out of it. It would be low budget but I have 2400 squre foor sound stage here, dorms for `6 people so I would shoot it right on my property and nearby in say 3 weeks housing the entire filmcrew on my rancho in Colorado's Rocky Mountains.

Comment by Peyton Quinn on February 18, 2012 at 7:08pm In this new era of Ebooks that seems to really be possible,as other have done it succesfully. I would not have bothered writing another novel but that when I turned it into a Ebook it sold and brought in some small amount of money, just $85 t to $200 a month but Hell I do not have to do anything more for it. So I am thinking of writing another novel to 'grow' that audience. But the dilema is do I write a prequel to the firsdt novel, or do I create another character and another suspense/action/mytsert in a totally diffrent setting?.But written in simlar style?

Comment by Peyton Quinn on February 18, 2012 at 10:58am WE need to write what 'feel' as well as what we 'know' so I agree, there are people who will be fascinated by the detail feeling it gives 'authority' and 'authenticity'. But that group has to be culitvated and written to. Then they share it word of mouth and email wise. I have found a few authors I like that way myself.
