Lets see those shave Gentlemen.  Hopefully this month we can get more contributions, otherwise its just me rambling on about how crappy my technique is...LOL.

Pics are always good too, but my camera is still busted so none from me for the time being.

Hello everyone. Been a while. Just not on the site here much lately.

Yesterday's Shave:

Razor: Gem Jr

Blade: Gem Stainless from CVS (4)

Brush: Semogue 1800

Soap: Czech & Speake 88

Post: Hot Rinse, Cold Rinse, Thayers Lavender Witch Hazel

A/S: Captain's Choice Bay Rum

Today:

Razor: RazoRock Jaws

Blade: Astra SP (4)

Brush: Omega B&B Smoke LE

Soap: Czech & Speake 88

Post: Hot Rinse, Cold Rinse, Thayers Lavender Witch Hazel

A/S: Aqua Velva Musk

I'm not buying anything new lately as I am trying to work through my years worth of products. I'm also trying to work through a few soaps in a row to finally complete some.

Did you buy that C&S before you went on your buying diet?  (Oops.  Obviously.  Hadn't read that far when I responded.  Sorry...)

Is Czech and Speake worth the price tag?

I actually got a puck of it in a PIF from someone at B&B. I really like it. I probably won't buy it in the next year or so as there are soooo many other soaps to try, but I do like it.

The Czech and Speake I was piffed was one of the small travel rounds. I'm up to 13 shaves with it and it looks about 1/3 gone. I am also puck lathering in a bowl, so I am using it faster than normal. It seems like it is a good lasting puck.

Today was a nice, smooth shave. Nothing exceptional, but felt good.

Soap: TOBS Sandalwood
Bowl: LE TSN Bill Bowl
Razor: '63 Gillette Slim Adjustable (4)
Blade: Crystal (7)
Post: Cold Water/ Witch Hazel
A/S: "The Bay"

DFS, damn near BBS in 2.5 passes this morning. I had forgotten what a lovely lather the TOBS made. I need to really make this soap a bigger part of my rotation as it and the Prince came together to produce a wonderfully rich lather with excellent cushion and glide this morning. My Crystal bit the dust this morning. Not a lot of irritation, but enough to let me know that I shouldn't try and push the blade for another shave. I was worried about how the Sandalwood soap would pair with "The Bay", but I have to tell you I love the combination. I think the two blend nicely together. We'll see if its just my nose playing tricks on me if others start to give me a wider berth than normal when walking around at work today though. Great shave on this day of reflection. Off to Mass.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Razor: 1974 Gillette Super Adjustable (Set on 5)

Was a quick shave this morning and the Feather is about done. Will probably replace it before the next shave.

Friday, February 15th

Prep: Hot Shower/Mr Glo
Brush: WSP Prince (Finest)
Soap: TOBS Sandalwood
Bowl: LE TSN Bill Bowl
Razor: '63 Gillette Slim Adjustable (5)
Blade: Crystal (1)
Post: Cold Water/Witch Hazel
A/S: "The Cat"

DFS damn near BBS in 2.5 passes today. Power out this morning, so I wasn't going to attempt it, but decided to shave by candle light. All in all it was a good shave. The Prince, and TOBS came together once again to produce a wonderfully rich lather with great cushion and glide. New blade for "Slim", and upped the setting to 5 to try it out. Wondering how aggressive I'm gonna be able to go. The Sandalwood seems to pair well with "The Cat". And just as I wrap up the shave, power comes back on. A good shave today. No nicks, no weepers, no irritation.

Happy Friday Everyone...

Razor: RazoRock Jaws

Blade: Astra SP (5)

Brush: Semogue 1800

Soap: Wrisley

Post: Hot Rinse, Cold Rinse, Thayers Lavender Witch Hazel

A/S: Osage Rub, Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Terrible shave this morning. Was my first time using the vintage Wrisley. I let some water sit on top of it while I showered hoping it would soften up. I didn't soak it totally because it was in a wooden bowl.  I then loaded with over 100 swirls on the brush and tried to bowl lather. It was super thin. I put it on my face and 1/2 of the way through the shave, it was dried out on my face. I re-wet it with the brush and finished. I then used my hand to squeeze more lather out of the brush and touch-up.  It didn't help that my Astra was on it's 5th shave. I think it's dead too.  So, to sum it up: Spent Blade + Dry Lather = Terrible shave.

I did end it on a good note though. Splashed on some Ossage Rub followed by some AV Ice Blue to give it a nice sting after all the razor burn from the shave. Felt wonderful walking out into 18 degree weather with that.
