So... what is everyone getting? Any new shaving purchases? Any new items in the mail you are anxiously awaiting?

Tonight was a pretty good score.  I went to AoS, a local soap store, and target and got some cool things:

Art of Shaving:

Container of Sandalwood Shave Cream

Unscented sample pack that included some pre-shave oil. I kept saying "no" when he was trying to up-sale me some pre-shave oil and so finally he just gave me a sample pack and said try it and I would like it.

Soaps and Scents:

Dominica Bay Rum Aftershave

Lightfoot's Pine Scented Shave Soap

Caswell-Massey 1752 Sandalwood Shave Cream

Crabtree & Evelyn Sandalwood bath soap

Target:

Cappuccino mug for a shave bowl

Small ceramic bowl for a shave bowl

Stainless razor holder (fine, they called it a toothbrush holder)

Overall, a nice haul for an evening. Can't wait to try some out.

Just picked up a tube of Speick shaving cream on BST that should be shipped soon.

I found an antique store today that had a cigar box full of old razors for $4.50 a piece, so I got three: a gold ball-end Tech, a brass GEM Junior, and a '55 Super Speed (don't tell my sister about that last one). The Tech and the Junior are for my nephew; the SS is for me. That was a moment of weakness. I've been eager to try DE shaving, and asked for a Tech for Christmas, so I shouldn't have bought myself a razor. In my defense, it was always my intention to get both a Tech and Super Speed to try out. I'd just intended to get the SS after Christmas. So I jumped the gun a little bit.

Very nice score! I have a 52 Super Speed and a 53 Gold Ball End Tech and like them both. I also have a Gem Damaskeene and like it as well. 3 great razors, especially for $4.50 a piece.

I have a 53 Super Speed.  Its my favorite razor.  Although my Schick Krona is running a very close second.

I spent a good portion of the day fiddling with the Junior, and I had to run back to that antique shop and get one for myself. I don't know where I'm going to fit it in, being a die-hard Gillette man, but it was just too neat to pass up, especially for the price.

I just got a ton of stuff today. We had Christmas a little early (will be out of town next weekend) and got some stuff from my wife and kids.

Old Spice A/S
AOS Ocean Kelp Shaving Cream
Swedish Dream Sea Salt Soap
AOS Unscented Sampler (Oil, Cream, and Lotion)
L'Occitane Bavx Deodorant
AOS Sandalwood Pre-shave Oil
Old Spice Deodorant
Marx Brothers DVDs
Musgo Real Soap-on-a-Roap
4 Tickets to go see the Hobbit
A real Swiss Army Knife
A Winchester folding knife from the kids with "Dad" stamped on the blade

We then went shopping at an antique mall and I picked up even more stuff as well as a tube of Pre de Provence at a pharmacy on the way.

Here's the rest of the stuff with a bit of the Christmas stuff mixed in.

Gem Damaskene

Gem Micromatic

Valet Auto-Strop Old

Valet Auto-Strop New

German Travel Tech

1967 US Travel Tech (never used, still has paper between the head and plate)

3 brushes and an old spice mug

Vintage bowl and puck of Wrisleys Lavender shave soap

Damn! Impressive!

Well, I'm about done with this section. I'm going to be joining a "restraint" thread over at B&B and see if I can go a year without spending anything else on shaving. I do have a few exceptions for some new knots from either TGN or Whipped Dog so I can re-knot a few brushes, but other than that, I will try to be done. I've spent way too much this past year on Shaving and need to back off a bit.

I am finishing the year on a bang so I can last a whole year on what I have.

100 Red Personna Blades for my DEs

50 Gem Stainless Steel SE Blades for my Gems

20 Feather Spineless SE Blades for my Valets

39 Blade Sampler Pack to try a few new blades for next year (3 different Gillettes and 3 different Supermax)

I also picked up some Osage Rub (thanks to Clinton's excellent review) and some Pinaud Clubman Musk (as my wife just told me she loves Musk A/S).

I'll be getting probably 2 more bottles of Thayers tonight and then I'll be done for the year.

Maybe...

Tonight I picked up 2 Thayers, Original Astringent and Rose Petal Toner. I also received a puck of Tabac in the glass bowl. My wife ordered it for me for Christmas and it arrived today. Can't wait to try it out!

I hear you on the backing off purchases. I got into DE because I wanted to save money.

So far this month I've picked up:

2 Brushes - WSP Prince in Finest, and an Omega 81052 Boar

4 Soaps -Cella, RazoRock S Maria, Mike's Natural Lavendin & Eucalyptus, Pre de Province

5 After Shaves - Krampert's Finest Acadian Spice Bay Rum, Floid Suave, Aqua Velva, Prospector Co. Peary + Henson, Jeris Osage Rub

3 different blades - Gillette 7 O'Clock (Yellow and Green), 100 Crystal Blades

A new lather bowl - TSN LE 2012 Bill Bowl

4 Razors - Schick Krona, Gillette Red Tip, Gillette TV Special, Gillette Slim Adjustable

And a Marvy Jar.

I'm debating ordering up some MdC soap Europe, but I'm not sure I want to invest that much money in soap...Still people go crazy over this stuff.

My next order will be to Bull Goose and I'm getting a Semogue 1305, some Speick ASL, and a puck of Mr Glo.

I'll also probably pick up a new soap, most likely from Mystic Water, probably Adirondack Jack.  I'm on a mission to try at least one puck from each artisan maker I can find.  So far, just Mama Bear's and Mikes.

And if I can work out the details with the vendor, a LadySea Scuttle.  If not probably a Dirty bird Original or 1.5 Scuttle.

I seriously think I need an intervention.

My wife thinks I do too.  :o)

I am going to try to back off and see how long I can go w/out spending more. I do have enough software (29 soaps, 15 creams, 19 After Shaves) to go along with my hardware (11 razors, 8 brushes) that I should be fine for a long time.

I am severely lacking in everything but razors. I went to the antique shop again today. In addition to the Super Speed and GEM Junior (just right of center), I picked up a black handled '67 Super Speed (far left), a '53 Tech (second from left), and a GEM Micromatic (far right). Just left of center is the long comb NEW that my sister got me for Christmas. I told her I got the rest of them today, which is mostly true. Right now, I'm still shaving with my can of Barbasol, but hopefully I'll have enough money next payday to pick up a brush and some soap, or maybe some C.O. Bigelow cream.
