I wore a fine brown Harris Tweed to church today, where I was described alternately as "dapper," "snappy," and "natty."  Egad!

I too am commonly told I look like a professor (especially when wearing a bow tie), usually by some lout whose only knowledge of tweed is that he once saw it in a movie.

Started Tweed Tuesdays in college!!

Love the stuff, freshman ask me if I'm a professor and sometimes follow up with a academic question.

Hmph! When I was in my early twenties, tweed was my fashion of choice, even then. Of course, it didn't hurt that I was employed in the museum field at the time, and that tweed nicely reenforced that "academic look".
