Oh, what a contrast this shows, between leaders.
Wow!

Well, no. Inflation (A little better than 2.6 at the moment) is still currently bigger than the rate of growth. Thus net/net, the economy is actually still moving in a downward direction.

I believe that is a positive number.

I take serious issue with this. The economy was downright awful for the lion's share of Reagan's first term because of Volcker's bitter inflation medicine.

Permalink Reply by Titus Techera on April 9, 2012 at 11:32am People are what they are & it is unreasonable to expect them to be otherwise. Reagan was elected because he knew that. All things considered, it is better for Americans to elect men like Reagan, but it's unreasonable they will do so because it is the reasonable thing to do...

Permalink Reply by ARK on April 9, 2012 at 7:01pm Uh, Bush has a graduate degree from Harvard and his BA is from Yale. Hardly salt of the earth.
Permalink Reply by ARK on April 9, 2012 at 7:18pm Reagan was a far more credible cowboy than Bush ever was. It was like John Wayne versus Yosemite Sam.
Permalink Reply by JonEdanger on April 9, 2012 at 7:19pm Wrong about the staged shoots, for Reagan anyway. He loved clearing brush on his ranch. Caught a lot of flak for it as well.
