Protest The President: TV Blackout on Monday – Obama’s Inauguration Day

He's already been inaugurated ... yesterday.

Turn off ALL news and inauguration broadcasts – if you possibly can, just turn the TV off for the day. Let them see that we CARE about our country but we DON’T care about the crowning of the freedom choking, Barack Obama.

My trouble with boycotts is they always call on me to boycott something I already don't use.  TV "news" -- why would anybody watch it?  And if I did, and turned the TV off, who outside my house would know?

Can I watch it online?

And the stupidity goes on, endless flowing like a mighty river, oblivious to the reality around it.

Let's make it a protestacular day!

I don't know that it counts as a boycott, but I won't be watching any inauguration coverage because I really don't have any interest in seeing that man's coronation.

Coronation? He's no king, no dictator or despot. His inauguration is the same as that for any other democratically elected US President. Nothing less and nothing more.

I'm not watching it, because I'm at work.

Ken: You are entitled to your opinion and to what you choose to watch or not to watch, however I want to be clear, that my name is not included in your "We don't care about Obama....".  I enjoyed watching the inauguration because I believe that it embodied a celebration of all that is right in our great country. Ironically, the freedom represented in the pomp and speech making is what ensures your right to "Not Care".  You are free to protest, but not free to speak for me.

Good Lord.  So, the ceremonials were shifted to a holiday.  Total tempest in a teapot.  As for TV news,  "...get all the news I need on weather report."

I'm with Mr. Tannen.  It's one of the few real People's Ceremonials, filled with dignity, democratic majesty, intended for all the People, and at the core, simply celebrating the long continued string of our nation's enjoying a peaceful, civil transition of elected political power.

Not only watched it, taped it for the wife (who works nights).
